With August fast approaching, Altadena Library District is starting to wrap up its busy summer and prepare for its fall programs. Having started in June, the Library’s Summer Reading program featured events for all ages, from special story times at Altadena Farmers Market and Loma Alta Pool to educational events for adults. To send off summer and celebrate the end of the successful Summer Reading program, Altadena Library District invites the public to its Summer Reading Grand Finale Concert featuring world-renowned musical artist El Twanguero and his talented band on Friday, August 25 at 7:30pm. 

“It has been a joy this summer to see community members of all ages so actively engage in our Summer Reading programs,” says Library Director Mindy Kittay, “It seemed only appropriate to celebrate the end of such a successful summer with another opportunity for the community to gather and enjoy top-notch entertainment together!” 

Considered by many as one of the best guitarists in the world, El Twanguero invites all kinds of audiences to see and hear him perform, including guitar fans, entertainment fans, and people of all ages who enjoy great music. Dubbed the “fire-breathing guitar hero” by the U.S. press, he launched his successful solo career two years ago after decades of accompany Latin music giants such as Bunbury, Calamaro, El Cigala, and others. He has achieved major accomplishments in the last couple years including launching memorable albums such as his latest PACHUCO and ARGENTINE SONGOOK (Warner Music) and touring Spain, Mexico, American from South to North and other parts of world. El Twanguero has received excellent reviews and become an International Gibson and Bigsby artist. Combined with his accomplished band, El Twanguero provides entertainment sure to thrill music lovers and dancers from all around Altadena.

The Grand Finale Concert will take place in the Reading Court at the District’s Main Library (600 E. Mariposa Street). Beverages will be available for purchase from Altadena Ale & Wine House.
