About the Artist
Artist Dale Voelker enjoys juggling different materials — discarded paper, acrylic paint, spray paint, markers and old computer parts. His current collage work highlights the surreal mix of gritty reality and squeaky clean idealism that could be found in the newspapers of decades gone by. He loves the word play of the news headlines and wacky sales pitches of the advertisements along serious stories of the day.

He layers clippings and elements of street landscape with vibrant color. He treats each piece as a sponge that absorbs and allows him to build a history of layers that can be interpreted in infinite ways.

His artwork is part of private collections in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Francisco, Colorado, Massachusetts, Miami, Honolulu and Austria.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in Art & Design at California State Northridge.

He heads his own graphic design business, Digital Lava Graphic Design, which focuses on the entertainment industry, as well as institutes of higher education and nonprofit organizations. He is a native Angeleno and currently lives in the Los Angeles area. You can find him online at www.dalevoelker.com.
