In February, Altadena Library will host Natalie Russell, Assistant Curator of Literary Collections at The Huntington Library, for a special presentation about the life and career of science-fiction author and Altadenan Octavia E. Butler! In celebration of her prolific portfolio, we encourage all interested parties to read Butler’s novel “Kindred” before the event so that guests can engage in a lively discussion about her work after the presentation. The Friends of Altadena Library have generously donated 25 copies that are available for community members to borrow at the Main Library — we ask that participants return their book before the presentation so that others have a chance to read the book as well! Books are available for pick up anytime after January 10, 2018!
