Camp Altadena Library Summer Challenge

We invite you to join our all ages summer challenge this year!

Summer Challenge

Join us for a Summer Challenge! Participants of all ages can log 300 minutes of reading and complete 2 activity goals – Community & Explorer – to earn registration, midpoint and completion prizes.

You will soon be able to sign up for our Summer Challenge:

  • during our kickoff event on Saturday, June 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bob Lucas Memorial Library, 2659 N. Lincoln

  • at either our Bob Lucas Library or Altadena Library at Loma Alta Park

  • with our Curiosity Connection staff at one of our SIX weekly outreach locations

  • or through our app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play (search for “Altadena Library”)

Prizes

Each age group receives these respective prizes for completing each step in the Challenge. Prizes are available (while supplies last) until August 15, 2026.

Children (Ages 0-12)

  • Signup/Registration: Altadena Library branded pencil kit

  • Midpoint (300 points earned): Book

  • Complete the Challenge: choice of LEGO or Squishmallow

Teens (Grades 8-12th)

  • Signup/Registration: Altadena Library branded cap hat

  • Midpoint (300 points earned): $10 gift card to Neon Retro Arcade or Octavia’s Bookshelf

  • Complete the Challenge: LEGO set + entry to into drawing for Nintendo Switch Lite

Adults (Ages 18+)

  • Signup/Registration: Altadena Library branded carabiner

  • Midpoint (300 points earned): $5 coffee gift card

  • Complete the Challenge: bear-shaped multitool
